Profile:
Maria Strum joined the Speech and Hearing Sciences faculty in 2024 as a Clinical Instructor/Lecturer. She attended San Francisco State University where she received her master's degree in communication disorders. Maria has worked as a speech language pathologist in various settings including outpatient, home health, inpatient rehabilitation, and acute care across the country. She strives to incorporate evidence-based treatment while focusing on patient-centered care with the adult and geriatric population. The acute care setting was where she spent most of her career.
Maria’s areas of interest include neurologic disorders in adults and specializing in aphasia, cognitive deficits, dysarthria, apraxia, and dysphagia
