Ms. Stone is a Clinical Instructor/Lecturer in the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences. She is an alumna of the University of New Mexico, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Disorders and a Master of Science degree in speech-language pathology. Ms. Stone brings over 23 years of experience as a speech-language pathologist, practicing in school districts (both rural and urban), as well as serving clients on the DD Waiver with the State of New Mexico. She has extensive professional experience with augmentative and alternative communication within school, hospital, and home care settings. Ms. Stone has conducted staff trainings at the school and district level, as well as presented at professional conferences. Her areas of interest and expertise include augmentative and alternative communication, assistive technology, autism spectrum disorders, social communication, and developmental disabilities with a focus on clients presenting with severe delays and disabilities.
