Associate Professor Amy Neel is serving as Faculty Senate President for the 2012-2013 academic year.  In an August 20, 2012 UNM Today article, Dr. Neel said that student success is a key issue, and is working to improve retention, graduation rates and depth of learning. She also hopes that faculty will participate in UNM President Robert Frank's UNM 2020 initiative, a plan to collaboratively build a vision for the university's future.  Some challenges facing faculty are compensation, teaching online, hybrid, or face-to-face courses with the right balance, supporting research with internal and external funds, and building the university's interdisciplinary focus.

You can read the full article in UNM Today, either by picking up the paper version on campus, or by visiting the online archives.
